It’s been a year now since thirteen creative studios were made from the conversion of former military barracks in Old Portsmouth. Studio One joined in heartily with the open studios event held to mark the occasion, as artists and makers from all the studios welcomed visitors and colleagues for drinks, nibbles and chats. including a visit from our new member of parliament, Stephen Morgan mp.
It’s been an exciting year, not without incident, and we’re all thrilled to be taking our adventure into a second year at Studio One.
Fire Monkey Carrie Swinburne told About Portsmouth: “I’ve been at Hotwalls studios since it opened in July 2016 and have enjoyed using the large, creative space for many projects. Working in this space alongside a collective of other artists has been beneficial to my creativity and I’m thrilled with the work I have produced during this period.”
Here’s to the next twelve months!
